Diana Basto  was born in Bogota, Colombia (South America). She has been a Spanish teacher since 1997. She has great experience in K-12 education in both Colombia and the United States.  Graduated in ESL and Spanish from La Gran Colombia University in Bogotá.. She is married, and mother of two girls.

Lately, she has been working with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) as a Spanish teacher for 6 years in a middle school through an international education program. She also had the chance to work with CMS  in areas such as a Family Advocacy, Bilingual Administrative Support, Teacher Assistant and translator for the non – English speaking community attending the school district in Charlotte, North Carolina.
