Mrs. Yvette Corredor

Board Member

Yvette Corredor, Bogota, graduated at the Maria Mazzarello College, studied Library and Archives at the University of La Salle and Library BIREME Medica, University of São Paulo, Brazil. She was the Director of the Library of the National Institute of Cancerology, Bogotá. She participated in special programs Information Dissemination and systematization of Medical Library in Colombia and Children’s Literature, Administration and Law at universities and institutions of Bogotá.  In collaboration with Consuelo Acevedo Peña they organized the José Asunción Silva Poetry Library in Bogotá, represented Colombia in international projects and was a representative and teacher in courses in Mexico and Venezuela. She worked in the areas of Literature and Social Sciences, Engineering and Information Processes at the Eafit University, Teleantioquia and Inderena in Medellín and at the Industrial University of Santander in Bucaramanga. For 20 years she has lived in Charlotte, she combines her Nanny work with volunteer activities with Readers’ Partners, cultural events for the Colombian community, Latina and immigrants from other countries and with her passion for poetry, music and dance she writes and promotes events and gatherings to gather lovers of the subject and well-known writers from the Charlotte area. She has participated in important poetry events with Lucila Ruvalcaba and Rafael A. Osuba. Her experience in the theater has been rewarding and is another means of cultural activity that he has taken up to participate and develop the riches of literature and acting.
